ARMENIA, Cilician Armenia. Royal. Levon I, 1198-1219. Tram (Silver, 22 mm, 2.80 g, 7 h). Levon seated facing on throne decorated with lions, holding globus cruciger in his left hand and fleur-de-lis in his right, with left foot resting upon footstool and right foot turned outward. Rev. Two lions rampant back-to-back, each with heads reverted; patriarchal cross between. AC 274-275 var. (globus cruciger and fleur-de-lis inverted). CCA 123 ff. var. (globus cruciger and fleur-de-lis inverted). A very rare variety. Beautifully toned and well struck. Minor edge crack, otherwise, good very fine.
